This is the description of Maestro. Maestro is designed to operate directly from a stand-alone CD-ROM player. Maestro is capable of storing data that will be
downloaded via the Internet and is also capable of storing data that can be downloaded from the Internet.
Maestro’s data can be used in a variety of ways. It can be used in creating a complete mission, including all scheduled events, calendar data and weather data for any area on Mars. Maestro can also be used in watching a mission in progress, or in setting up a mission and controlling it.
Maestro includes a number of tools that can be used to help in the planning and in the running of a mission. These tools include charts, tables, and graphs.
Maestro’s Mission Database can be used to list the things that are going to happen in the future on a given day. This is very useful for planning.
Maestro is also capable of controlling the rover’s motion. It can be used to start and stop drives, issue commands to drive and a number of other tasks.
Finally, Maestro has the capability of collecting data from a computer over the Internet. This data can be used to monitor the rover’s status.

Will three battery connectors (for each battery) be ok?
I have a new MacBook Pro. I have to connect three batteries (AA, AAA and D-size). Will it be ok if I connect them as follows:
or should I connect them separately and then join them?
Three battery connectors and cables are generally no problem (with the exception that your car charger won’t recognize them). The design of MacBooks is somewhat tricky to figure out exactly how the batteries are wired together. As a result, they are designed to have the three batteries wired in parallel, though some older MacBooks would be wired in series.
Maestro 2022 [New]
Maestro is a set of programs, running on the JPL rovers (Spirit and Opportunity), that make possible the
remote operation of the rovers from Earth. Maestro is the MAssive Education and Remote Operation (MAERORO) suite. MAERORO is an acronym for MAssive Education and Remote Operation. MAERORO was developed by Drs. John Brand and Phillip Atchley at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) in Pasadena, California, in a joint JPL/NASA-funded project. JPL is a division of the California Institute of Technology.
Maestro is free. Its development and use is supported by NASA’s Solar System Exploration Research Virtual Institute (SSERVI).

(a) Maestro operates on the rovers through an interface called KeyMacro.
KeyMacro is a program that runs on your PC or Mac. It enables you to control the rover (think of it as a very dumb robot) using your keyboard. If you want to get the most out of Maestro, it is suggested that you have a keyboard attached to your computer. You’ll need to download KeyMacro to your computer. KeyMacro is available for download at KeyMacro.com.
(b) Maestro is open source software. As such, it is not under the jurisdiction of JPL and can be freely used by anyone. However, Maestro is still under the jurisdiction of NASA, and software license and copyright laws apply.

These plots show a different aspect of the problem of binary black hole merger. One of the usual ways we think about black holes is that they are objects with a horizon, that is, objects that have a surface from which no signal can ever escape. It’s this horizon that prevents the black holes from merging in a binary. This would be like two pits in the ground and you could never get from one pit to the other. Now in this movie we see what would happen if you didn’t have a horizon. In fact, the gravitational waves from the collision of the holes would travel outward and carry information about the collision. It would be like a wave traveling away from the collision and the waves would have a characteristic wavelength.
It’s the natural gravitational wave produced by the collapse of a star which ultimately formed the black hole. And it’s this wave, as you see, that carries the information from the two black holes that we’re going to see if they merge or not. Now the distance that the waves travel away from the collision is the same distance as the horizon of the black holes, so we only see the tail of the wave that’s produced, not the whole wave.
The waves that we see are the part that’s actually produced by the collision of the holes. This is called the effective wave and it’s this wave that actually carries the information that the holes collided.

What’s New In Maestro?
Maestro is a scaled-down version of the program that NASA scientists use to operate Spirit and Opportunity.
Updates are also available for Maestro that contain real data from Mars that you can add to your copy of Maestro.
You’ll need to download Maestro to your computer. Maestro comes with data taken during recent rover tests.
Then, check the updates section of the site frequently. Starting in early January and continuing throughout the mission, we will release real data from Mars for you to use in Maestro.
